This Is Why Ayushmann Khurrana Rejected ‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’ Sequel!

‘Happy Bhag Jayegi’, which starred Diana Penty, Jimmy Shergill, Abhay Deol, Ali Fazal and Momal Sheikh, was a sleeper hit. A few days ago, the director of the movie, Mudassar Aziz, announced of making its sequel. It was announced that Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapoor have been roped in as the main lead for the movie.

Before finalising Aditya Roy Kapoor, the director approached Ayushmann Khurrana who turned down the offer. When asked from the actor about the reason of rejecting the film, he said, “I was shooting with Sriram and, therefore, said no to that film. As an actor, we have certain limitation of dates and all… so, we cannot do everything at the same time. But that film is also interesting.”

Ayushmann is currently gearing for the release of his upcoming movie ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ which is slated to release on August 18, 2017. The movie is directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and also stars Kriti Sanon and Rajkummar Rao. Known for playing chocolate boy roles, this film will see Ayushmann playing a boy from a small town who bullies everyone and dances madly. He also has R. S. Prasanna’s Shubh Mangal Savdhan opposite Bhumi Pednekar in his kitty.
