This Is What Amitabh Bachchan Demanded For Hosting KBC!
From its first season, Kaun Banega Crorepati has always generated people’s interest. The show, which is an Indian adaptation of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, started way back in 2000 with Amitabh Bachchan as the host. It was the popularity of the show that led Mr. Bachchan rise back to fame at a time when he was having a low phase in his life.
The show came to his aid at a time when his business ABCL corp was going in loss and there were no films in his kitty which impacted his financial condition. It was not by coincidence that the actor got the show. He agreed to do show only on a condition. “Big B had a condition before he gave his nod for the show,” revealed Siddharth Babu Basu, who is the founder of Synergy Production. Big B assured that KBC would have a landmark mass impact. Basu added, “When the foreigners visited on the licensors’ behalf, they were shown the under construction set.”
Siddharth further added that the officials were very apprehensive whether the non-scripted show would be able to pass or not. He stated that there were many first in the show. “For the first time an online coordination was required to happen on any program, the intelligent lights were used in a precision and not in a decorative manner so on and so forth,” added Basu. Mr. Basu further said that when Mr. Bachchan was approached for the show he was shooting in London. It was there when he watched the British version of the show.
Siddharth said that the shoot of the British version was absolutely perfect. “There was no chaos, every single person in the crew were in a uniform and there were so many complex elements put together in it but the entire shoot was so well-coordinated,” he disclosed. Her further went on to say that Big B was totally amazed looking at this and put his condition that he would agree to do the show only if the above conditions are fulfilled.
Now KBC is in its 17th year, but people have the same craze of watching and participating in it as in its first season. Stuck nine in their clocks, they leave everything and switch on their television to watch Mr. Bachchan.
