I'm Thankful For Starting My Career With Sabbir: Tiger Shroff

With just four films to his credit, actor Tiger Shroff has certainly become one of the most sought-after actors in Bollywood. However, it can’t be overlooked that out of his four releases, three have been directed by Sabbir Khan. And Tiger has no qualms in admitting that whatever little he has learned, he owes it to Sabbir.

“I’m thankful to Sabbir that I’ve gotten a little bit hang of the craft. I’m glad I started my career with him and blessed that our ventures together have been appreciated,” says Tiger, whose last outing at the Box Office, Munna Michael didn’t receive a great response as compared to Heropanti (2014) and Baaghi (2016).

Tiger, who is reportedly playing the lead in Baaghi 2 [to be directed by Ahmed Khan] and Student of the Year 2 [to be directed by Punit Malhotra] says that he will definitely miss Sabbir.

“But I know I’ll work with him soon. The reason I clicked with him so well in the past is because we have had conversations even before Heropanti and we know each other well. We realised that we had very similar wavelengths in terms of what we wanted to express and what kind of films we wanted to make,” says Tiger, adding that Sabbir primarily makes family entertainers that match with Tiger’s target audience.

“So it’s a match made in heaven,” quips Tiger. He adds, “It’s important to have a good relationship between a director and an actor. And once that atmosphere is comfortable, working is a pleasure.”

It’s just important to have a good relationship between director and actor.

Asked if repeatedly teaming up with a director and having a strong equation reflects in work too, Tiger says, “When you work with someone again and again, you end up becoming friends.”

So has he ever given suggestions to Sabbir? “He is open to suggestions but I know when to give them. It would be only during a dance or action sequence, on which I have some knowledge. Otherwise, he is bang on with his work.”
