    Top B-town films to watch out in rest of 2014

    2014 is in its mid-way and several Bollywood films have already made their mark while others have failed to do the same. Films which have set the scores high in 2014 are Queen, Highway and Two States while others like Gunday, Yaariyan, Gulaab Gang failed to strike the right chord with the audience. Unfortunately numbers of flops are much higher than numbers of superhits this year so far. But there are still some releases awaited which are expected not to disappoint the audience much.

    To start with the list first and foremost we should mention Happy New Year which is an action comedy drama by Farah Khan. Slated to release during Diwali, on October 23, this Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer is touted to be a laughter riot which has an ensemble supporting cast of Boman Irani, Abhishek Bachchan and debutant Vivaan Shah. Then we can talk about Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif’s Bang Bang which is an action-thriller and a remake of the Hollywood film Knight and Day. Directed by Siddharth Raj Anand Bang Bang is set to release on October 2.Thirdly Ranbir Kapoor-Anushka Sharma starrer Bombay Velvet, based on historian Gyan Prakash's book Mumbai Fables, is one of the most talked about films this year. It revolves around the city of Mumbai and its evolution as a metropolis against the backdrop of love, gluttony, sadism and jazz music. Directed by Anurag Kashyap Bombay Velvet will release on November 28.

    Salman Khan’s next action thriller, Kick, is quite obviously expected to be a mass entertainer. This directorial by Sajid Nadiawala will release on July 25. Rajkumar Hirani’s next, P.K., starring Aamir Khan and Anushka Sharma, is about Hindu Gods and their Godmen, and it will hit the cinemas on December 19. The yet-to-be-titled biopic of Mary Kom, starring Priyanka Chopra in the lead, will focus on the life of the Olympic winning Indian boxer Mary Kom. Directed by Omung Kumar and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali this biopic will release on October 2. The desi version of William Shakespeare's Hamlet, Haider, is another most awaited film of this year. Set in Kashmir, Vishal Bharadwaj-directed Haider stars Shahid Kapoor, Tabu and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead and it is also set to release on October 2. Vidya Balan’s upcoming “pacy dramedy”, Bobby Jasoos, will portray the actress as a lady detective and this Samar Shaikh-directed venture will release on July 4. Actor Vir Das, who is on the cloud nine these days, is coming up with another rom-com, Amit Sahni Ki List, on July 18. This movie, directed by Ajay Bhuyan, is said to be a must-watch for all Vir Das fans.
