The TRP rating for the opening week of Sony Entertainment Television’s show Pehredaar Piya Ki indicate the immense popularity the show has garnered for its unique concept. A show that focuses on the strength and courage women possess has secured 1.1 TRP ratings for its launch day.

So far, the reactions to show have been mixed, yet the show has never left social media trends and many people have come out in support of the makers and the concept. 

Desimartini exclusively spoke to the writer of the show Sumeet Mittal who said, "Yes, we were anticipating the reaction because people judge it very fast without understanding things. You can’t control that after a point and the best way is to tell the story and wait for reactions. Viewers should give this show a chance because it’s a different kind of a story in the same social drama space, characters are unique and their problems are distinctive."
