Twinkle Khanna Contemplates Chopping Off Her Daughter’s Hair; Jennifer Winget And Kushal Tandon Pokes Fun At The Phenomenon!

Twinkle Khanna has vented on Twitter about how frustrated she is with her daughter’s hair, and is looking for tricks to cut it. The author and former actor came up with the idea that she will cut 4-year-old Nitara’s hair and blame it on the braid-chopping gang.

“The baby refuses to trim her hair! Should I snip it at night & blame the braid chopping entity who it seems has now moved to bombay as well?,” she wrote in the tweet.

The writer’s fans also joined her in on the joke. One commented that she should do it and blame it on God, another urged her not to ‘dis-tress’ her daughter. “Please don’t dis-tress the baby. Her grandma will be displeased for sure,” he wrote.

Another fan gave her better ideas on how to get her daughter to cut her hair. Rupande Mehta wrote, “I tell mine your hair won’t grow if you don’t trim it. It works every time.” Mona Arora said, “Try n convince her with hope of healthier n better hair quality .. rest you know how to weave story for enlighting news to ya baby.”

Actors Kushal Tandon and Jennifer Winget also poked fun at the phenomenon with a funny picture.

“Hey winget I know ur tired of your braid, let me take care of those,” he wrote as the caption.

Over the last few days, many women in villages of Delhi, Gurgaon and across Haryana have complained of their hair being chopped off while they were either sleeping or unconscious. Panicked villagers suspect ‘black magic’ and have been resorting to superstition to safeguard themselves – such as hanging chillies and lemons to ward off evil spirits. Rumours, ghost stories and suspicions of witchcraft are being bandied around among villagers, while women have been advised to tie their hair while travelling.

It’s difficult to sift what is real from the chaff. The incidents have been blamed on several ‘culprits’ – strange-looking men, a woman dressed all in black and even a woman who takes the shape of a cat. Police say they have been scouring CCTV footage, but suspect that the braid-chopping is the handiwork of anti-social elements. No arrests have been made yet.
