Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt finalized for Shuddhi

After lots of speculations, the star cast of Karan Johar’s next project Shuddhi has been finalized. Now, it is officially announced that Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt will play lead in the Karan Malhotra directorial. After Student of the Year and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, once again the duo will create the magic in Shuddhi.

The confirmation came in with Karan Johar’s tweet, which read, “And finally..SHUDDHI starring VARUN DHAWAN and ALIA BHATT... Directed by KARAN MALHOTRA... @Varun_dvn @aliaa08 @karanmalhotra21 @DharmaMovies”. On hearing the news, Salman congratulated the Badlapur star. The Bodyguard star tweeted, “Kamaal karte ho Varun Dhawan... Made your dad and me so proud of you... Happy Shuddhi”.

Previously, Hrithik Roshan was signed for the Karan Johar’s dream project. But due to his injury, the shoot was delayed, which also led Kareena Kapoor, the female lead, to walk out of the film. Later, speculations were rife that Salman Khan will be roped in to play Hrithik’s character opposite Alia Bhatt.
