Vidya Balan shares her experiences of shooting Bobby Jasoos

Kahaani actress Vidya Balan has grabbed several eyeballs in the first looks released for Bobby Jasoos which show her as a female detective disguised as a man and also in a traditional avatar. Balan shared her thrilling experiences of shooting this interesting character.

The 36-year-old actress launched the trailer of the film last evening when she said, “I have seen male actors cribbing about putting moustache and beard. But I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was exciting and fun to get into disguise of a man.” Vidya, who will be seen in several avatars in the film, also said, “The moment I got into the avatar, my body language and voice, changed automatically. I loved the get up of an astrologer… Half bald with dirty teeth. People on the sets could not recognise me whenever I came in different avatars.”

Vidya also shared that she enjoy doing the ‘detective’ act in her life too but for sheer joy, “I did ‘Jasoosi’ in real life for fun and have never been caught. There is no need for me to do ‘Jasoosi’ on Siddharth (Siddharth Roy Kapur, her husband) He is a boring guy.” The trailer launching event saw the presence of Vidya’s parents as well as some professional detectives, mostly female. The starlet said, “It is not just a detective-thriller. It is a ‘dramedy’ (drama and comedy). It is a story of a small town girl. This film is no parallel with ‘Kahaani’.” When she was offered the role she immediately gave her nod without any hesitation as she found the character of a lady detective in a Bollywood film as “new and interesting.” Bobby Jasoos, a production venture by Dia Mirza and her fiance Sahil Sanga’s Born Free Entertainment, marks the debut for Samar Shaikh as a director. Also starring Ali Fazal, Supriya Pathak and Tanvi Azmi, Bobby Jasoos will hit the big screens on July 4.
