Vikramaditya Motwane to direct a song for Anurag Kahsyap’s Bombay Velvet

While the shoot of Anurag Kashyap’s forthcoming venture Bombay Velvet may have been over, there’s a still a song that the filmmaker wants to squeeze in the film. The music video of the song is apparently being planned which will be directed by Kashyap’s close associate Vikramaditya Motwane.

The film that stars Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma in the lead with Karan Johar playing the villain, is set in the 60’s. The music video too will feature the same theme and backdrop. Motwane who directed the mesmerising Lootera last year is up for the task and will begin shooting soon. According to a source, "The music video will feature not only Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma but also Karan Johar, who plays a media mogul in the film. The makers are currently conceptualising the song. It will be shot on a sweeping scale and will convey the general idea of the film. But it won't be a part of the film's narrative. It's a music video which will be used for promotions."

Motwane is believed to be a perfect craftsman when it comes to music videos and that’s what Anurag has banked upon. Bombay Velvet was earlier slated to arrive this year itself, but with a possible clash with PK, the makers chose to push its release ahead. The film will now release in May 2015.
