    From assisting Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas to becoming a beautiful filmmaker himself is a long journey that Vikramaditya has travelled. After seeing his first two films; Udaan and Lootera, no one can doubt on his directorial skills. But you would be surprised to know that the director actually wanted to be an engineer and thanks his destiny for what he is today.

    Motwane strongly believes that his parents’ divorce has played the biggest role in making him a director. He recites his story; (that) he was only 10 years old when his parents decided to part their ways. This made his mother to take up a job as a line producer with documentary filmmaker Shukla Das and at that time Bhansali also used to assist Das and this helped him to know Bhansali, later went on to assist him.

    Vikramaditya has worked as an assistant for many other big names like; Deepa Mehta for Water, Anurag Kashyap for Paanch. His hard work in the past and some fortunate and unfortunate things has made him what he is today. His films are doing good, winning hearts and impressing many and the director feels that his wife Ishika is his biggest support and hardest critic.
