Want to work with Balaji? Come sign a ‘nudity clause’

It would come as a surprise if anyone in India isn’t aware about Ekta Kapoor’s autocratic style of work and her dictatorial attitude. The Balaji chief who has mostly brought out the most controversial kind of cinema from her house, has now added a clause which we’re not sure most actors would really enjoy. The new contractual element to work under the Balaji production is ‘nudity clause’.

Yes, according to this clause, no actor would be allowed to show dissent while filming erotic scenes and delivering hard abusive or sensuous dialogues. In a way, this would be a signed consent for going down all the way for stuff that Ekta and her team would like you to do. The production is currently working on a project titled ‘XXX’ and wants to avoid any kind eventual disagreements troubling the shoot of the film. Something of this sort had happened when Sunny Leone apparently denied filming some scenes for Ragini MMS 2.

Throwing light on this naively added clause, film’s director Ken Ghosh told Mumbai Mirror, "We have already had lots of discussions on how things would be shot and we do not want any problems during the filming. So we decided it was best to put in on paper as a techno-legal clause. We are pushing the envelope with this film. Erotica as a genre has been passed off under the guise of thrillers, murder mysteries and horror films for years. This time it's a straight and in-your-face genre. So, we have to be a little cautious.” While all this is best left on the actors to decide, let’s see if this law persists further. But after films like Ragini MMS, The Dirty Picture, Love Sex aur Dhokha, if the bar was to go anymore down, it had to be Balaji.
