When Piyush did an SRK

Actor Piyush Sahdev (left), who plays the parallel lead in Zee TV's Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, recently got to woo his lady love on the show in a typical Shah Rukh Khan style. For a particular sequence, Sahdev and actor Mahima Makwana (far left) had to dance on the song Jiya Jiya Re Jiya Re from the film Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012) that was originally picturised on Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma.

Thrilled beyond limits, the 32-year-old actor says, “I loved shooting the scene. It was different from the regular sequences that we do.” On a lighter note, he laughs, saying, “In the scene, Rachna gets tipsy and my character being this good Indian boy is taking care of her and trying to control her. It was actually quite filmy with all that slow motion dance sequences and all, so felt like Shah Rukh myself.”

Piyush adds that he always loved this song, so it was like a dream come true to perform on it. “Obviously, no one can romance the way Shah Rukh romances on screen, but I have tried recreating a ­similar magic. Just hoping people like it,” he says.
