5 Reasons Why Aamir Has Already Won The Race That Shah Rukh & Salman Are Running Hard For!

The ‘King’ of Bollywood is battling a creative block to re-experience his once untouched stardom, the God of masses is fighting tooth and nail to widen the range of his audience by attempting different cinema. Hindi film industry has always been a battle for survival. When struggle for survival isn’t in question anymore, the fight is then to become number one and retain it.

Here’s an advice- When you catch stars going all delicate on TV saying they don’t care how much others are making or there is no race to being number one, just don’t believe them!

5 Reasons Why Aamir Has Already Won The Race That Shah Rukh & Salman Are Running Hard For!

Anyway, Bollywood would cease to exist if Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir aren’t in top classification of actors. But while they continue to attempt several new things, challenge themselves and push their boundaries, you can’t help but admit one constant reflection. Aamir Khan is way ahead in the game and he isn’t threatened of his position by a fair distance. Here’s why:

Aamir is Never above the Movie, Other Khans Are

If a writer is forcefully making way for Salman to deliver one liners so people can whistle, if a filmmaker can’t help but include a romantic number so girls can drool over SRK, that’s not honesty to the story you want to convey. Aamir on the other hand falls in line of how a film has to be made. As a result when you see him on screen, you see a Mahavir Singh Phogat or a PK or a Rancho and not AAMIR KHAN the star.

Commercial Success is a part of the process, NOT the final objective

If Dangal was made with the intention of breaking all box office records, it would hardly have made any money. When a star like Aamir crafts a movie, he does it to give audiences a pleasant cinematic experience. Shah Rukh and Salman are too saddled by the load of expectations on the other hand. When the success of a movie is measured by how much it opened to and not by how much it was loved, half the game is lost already.

Cinema Comes First, TV ads, Reality Shows, Personal Ventures Come Second

The star plus commercial Aamir was recently seen in made news not because how well it was made, but because it featured Aamir himself.  For it is a big deal when Aamir decides to give some time to TV commercials unlike both SRK and Salman! While Aamir chooses to completely devote three years of his time to make a movie, everything else takes a backseat. What happens next is we are treated to feasts like Dangal, PK or 3 Idiots.

No Space for a Creative Block

While SRK was found admitting his partial creative block in his AIB Podcast, Salman is unabashedly catering to one section of audience only (which also is the largest). Aamir on the contrary doesn’t involve himself with something unless it stimulates a creative artiste in him. The last five films of Mr. Perfectionist had him play an aging father of two girls, a Bhojpuri speaking alien, a dual role thief, a police inspector and an engineering student. If this doesn’t prove his versatility, nothing ever will. The next is he is doing is Thugs of Hindostan which happens to be a period movie.

    Trophies Are Not Awards!

How every cosmopolitan disses a Bollywood award function today was perhaps already conceived by Aamir Khan two decades ago. His Filmfare tally of winning Best Actor is a modest 3 in comparison to Shah Rukh’s mammoth 8! But who do we unbiasedly pick as a better actor? Aamir Perfectionist Khan! While his movies continue to set new box office benchmarks apart from touching audience’s hearts, both Shah Rukh and Salman are succumbing to the imagery they have been projected with for years.

You could argue at how this shallow comparison of the Khans would never come to a conclusion. How these names are way beyond any race or how (and this is my favorite) each Khan is a King in his own realm, but when you think and settle yourself with a clearer head, Aamir Khan’s contribution to cinema is only going richer and richer by the year. Unfortunately, the other two Khans are letting things happen backwards.
