Ali Fazal says Hollywood actor Judi Dench considers India her second home
Actor Ali Fazal was on cloud nine when he got the offer to play the lead alongside Hollywood star Judi Dench in a biographical drama—Victoria and Abdul—directed by Stephen Frears. The actor, who recently finished shooting for the film says that Judi is in love with India and considers the country her second home.
“Judi is very keen on visiting India again. It’s on her priority list. She calls India her second home. After having spent a considerable time here for the shooting of The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2011), she fell in love with the country. She also wants to promote our film [Victoria and Abdul] here in India,” says Ali, adding that he has had the best time of his life sharing screen space with Judi.
The Fukrey (2013) actor has already decided the places where he will take the actor for sight-seeing. “I am actually looking forward to taking her around places I know she would like for sure. I have even told her that whenever she lands here, I will make sure she experiences Indian life, culture and food,” he smiles.
Ali, who has earlier been a part of the Hollywood film Furious 7 (2015), says after the biographical drama by Stephen Frears, he has got a couple of offers for international projects through a renowned UK based agency, which handles the likes of Judi, Jude Law and Daniel Day Lewis. “I have already met two-three directors and also received two scripts. I am currently reading them. If things fall in place, then I may sign one of these films,” adds Ali.
