The Amazing Spider-Man 2 rocks the summer blockbuster movie season

With collection of $92 million this weekend, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone starrer American superhero film The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is all set to rock the summer blockbuster movie season. Sony's Marvel superhero sequel did astonishingly well in other countries and managed to bring $116 million from overseas this weekend. The film has grossed a worldwide total of $370 million with the collection of $208 million globally this weekend.

“This is a terrific opening here,” Sony's president of worldwide distribution, Rory Bruer says “And when you put it together with the worldwide numbers, it's really stunning.” He further added, “Everyone worked so hard on this project, starting with the cast and director, the production team, the marketing and distribution, we put everything we had into this and it's really rewarding.” Bruer praised the character and said “This is such an iconic character that you really don't want to get in its way, and I think we struck the right balance.”
