Andrew Garfield To Be Honoured With Golden Eye Award At Zurich Film Festival

British actor Andrew Garfield will be presented with the Golden Eye Award at this year's Zurich Film Festival. A statement issued by the festival’s co-directors Nadja Schildknecht and Karl Spoerri read, “Following on from his masterful performances in 'Hacksaw Ridge' and 'Silence,' Andrew Garfield's powerful and enthralling turn in 'Breathe' reinforces him as one of the true stars of his generation. We are delighted to present him with our Golden Eye award at this year's festival."

The festival will take place from September 28 to October 8. He will also present his latest film 'Breathe' at the festival. The movie which is directed by debutante Andy Serkis is a real life drama which is based on the life of Robin Cavendish, who was diagnosed with polio. The flick will show the love and support of his wife who encourage and motivates him to get back to life.

Garfield was also nominated for Oscar in the best actor category this year for his role in Mel Gibson's 'Hacksaw Ridge’. He was also nominated at the Golden Globe and BAFTA awards for the same role. His supporting role in David Fincher's 'The Social Network' also won him BAFTA and Golden Globe nominations. He won a BAFTA Television Award for playing a lead role in Channel 4's 2007 drama 'Boy A'.
