    Andy Muschietti To Helm 'Robotech'

    Director Andy Muschietti, who has directed Stephen King’s ‘It’, has been approached to direct Sony's forthcoming adaptation of 'Robotech'. The movie will be produced by Andy's sister Barbara Muschietti. Apart from Barbara, Gianni Nunnari and Mark Canton will also produce the flick.

    However, as of now no script writer has been roped in for the film. The flick will be based on the 1980s cartoon series from Harmony Gold USA and Japan's Tatsunoko Productions. The movie is a sci-fi epic.

    It is set in a time when an alien spacecraft gets crashed on a South Pacific island and how Earth develops giant robots through the technology that they have developed from the spacecraft. Humans use the technology to fight off an impending alien invasion. Casting details or start dates have not decided yet.

    Andy Muschietti gained popularity after he made his debut with Mama which hit the theatres in 2013 and was a huge hit. He is currently awaiting the release of ‘It’ which is slated to release in September.
