Angelina Jolie Pitt’s By the Sea will hit theatres on November 13. The announcement was made by Universal Pictures on Thursday. The movie has taken inspiration from European cinema and theatre of ‘60s and ‘70s.

By the Sea focuses on an American writer named Roland- to be played by Brad Pitt and his wife, Vanessa- to be played by Angelina Jolie Pitt. The couple visit a French resort in the ‘70s with their marriage in apparent crisis. As they spend time with fellow travellers and village locals, the couple begins to come to terms with unresolved issues in their own lives.

The movie has been written, directed and produced by Angelina Jolie Pitt. The movie features Angelina Jolie Pitt and Brad Pitt in the leading roles along with Melanie Laurent, Niels Arestrup, Melvil Poupaud and Richard Bohringer. “This is a story about a relationship derailed by loss, the tenacity of love, and the path to recovery and acceptance”, Jolie Pitt said. “It has been a privilege to explore these universal human experiences with such a generous and talented cast and crew”, she added.
