Just when it started to seem like everything was in place for the upcoming X-Men spinoff 'Gambit', The Hollywood Reporter reveals that the production on the film has been delayed due to script re-writes. The movie was initially supposed to go on floors in March but now it has been postponed to the end of this year. Reid Carolin will be coming up with the final draft of the script.

Channing Tatum is supposed to play the role of Gambit. The actor has been working for the film for a long time now. The movie will be directed by Doug Liman who will probably move to a different project till the X-Men spinoff is finalised. According to THR, the director might helm Amazon Studio’s psychological thriller titled ‘The Wall’.

The cast for Gambit will also include Lea Seydoux who will play the role of Bella Donna Boudreaux. The character of Gambit was created in 1990 by Chris Claremont and Jim Lee. He has kinetic energy manipulation abilities and made his first appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
