Apple started offering ‘The Interview’ on iTunes

Apple’s iTunes has finally got its hands on The Interview, offering those in North America another option for viewing the controversial Sony Pictures movie. Sony has estimated that the film has made over $15 million in online revenue, mostly from Google's online services.

The film can be purchased on iTunes for $15 or rented for $6, the same price that the film sells for on other platforms. Publicity from the drama centering on Sony pulling the film and North Korea being upset about the movie proved to be a positive for the film. Sony says that it raked in $1 million in ticket sales on Christmas Day. The movie starring James Franco and Seth Rogen was given the green light by Sony after cancelling the premiere because of threats. Hackers who obtained confidential data in a security breach have been threatening Sony and the theaters for possible releases. The threats have not materialized.
