Avatar franchise: All actors retained

Makers of Avatar have closed a deal with the actors who had appeared in the first part of the series. Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana who played the lead in Avatar are all set to reprise their characters in the next three instalments of the Avatar franchise with Stephen Lang, Michelle Rodriguez and Sigourney Weaver. James Cameron will be directing the further parts of the series. He is jointly producing it as well with Jon Landau as he did in Avatar.

As the makers have already planned to bring Avatar 2, Avatar 3 and Avatar 4 on screen, it was somewhere important to get the stars back, who have worked in the first instalment and made it a blockbuster. Cameron is keen to capitalise on the success of the first part and has hired screenwriters; Josh Friedman, Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver and Shane Salerno to work with him on the screenplays for the series. Avatar 2 has been slated to release in December, 2016
