    Baywatch parody in Mumbai

Remember red hot Pamela Anderson bouncing across Santa Monica beaches in slow motion? Get ready for a Baywatch repeat, well almost, on Mumbai beaches. Baywatch star David Hasselhoff has said that he is making a spoof of the iconic American TV show of the 80s, and setting it in the Maharashtra capital. Whether or not the spoof-favourite is kidding, we'll know in time."I am currently working on an idea called Bombaywatch to bring myself (to Bollywood) and use Bollywood actors to make a parody of Baywatch in India," reveals the 59-year-old. "Bombaywatch is my number one priority right now. I am ready to come to India, so call me guys," he says, hinting he's open to auditions and collaborations.Hasselhoff's tryst with India is not new. He was named the International Star of the Year at the 2005 Bollywood Movie Awards in the US. Also present during the event were desi celebs such as Yash Chopra, late Shammi Kapoor, Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji. Hoff still remembers the night. "I met a lot of actors at the Bollywood awards ... they were very nice to me," he says, adding, "I would love to star in any Bollywood film!"And there are more things Indian he is upbeat about. "My girlfriend (Welsh beauty Hayley Roberts, 32) loves Indian food so I am consistently surrounded by it! I love it all, especially the chicken korma! I think I could live off of Indian food," he says.Currently on a high for playing himself as a celebrity lifeguard from his Baywatch days in horror-comedy Piranha 3DD that opens in India this Friday, the actor-singer is ecstatic to have come back in close proximity with "water, flesh and fish."Baywatch trivia* Apparently, audiences held the show in higher esteem than the TV industry did. It was the longest-running TV series to never win an Emmy* NBC cancelled the show in 1990, after season one. It was immediately revived in syndication, where it became one of the most popular shows in the world* At its peak, it aired in 148 countries, in every continent except Antarctica.
