Ben Mendelsohn may feature in ‘Star Wars: Rogue One’

The Dark Night star Ben Mendelsohn might be joining ‘Star Wars’ spin-off ‘Rogue One.’ According to the reports, Mendelsohn may be the male lead opposite Felicity Jones in the film. Production of the film is expected to begin this summer in London. Mendelsohn is currently starring in Netflix’s Bloodline and was earlier seen in Animal Kingdom, The Place Beyond the Pines and The Dark Knight Rises

John Knoll - Industrial Light and Magic's chief creative officer - is behind the Rogue One concept, which is written by Chris Weitz from a draft by Gary Whitta. Godzilla’s Gareth Edwards is helming the project. Knoll will also serve as an executive producer, alongside Simon Emanuel and Jason McGatlin. Kathleen Kennedy is on board as a producer with Tony To and John Swartz. Star Wars: Rogue One is set for release on December 16, 2016.
