Benicio del Toro to join Inherent Vice cast?

It has been reported that Oscar winning Traffic star Benicio del Toro may be signed up for Paul Thomas Anderson's project Inherent Vice, an adaptation of a novel with the same title by Thomas Pynchon.

If the deal is finalised, Toro will be playing "an attorney who's always trying to help the protagonist out of trouble, though he's not an actual criminal lawyer," as reported by The Wrap. It is also believed that though it would not be something major, but the character "is expected to be a potential scene-stealer." The production of the Joaquin Phoenix-starrer is set to begin soon.
