Carmen Zapata dies at 86
The sad news has come to light that actress-producer Carmen Zapata has passed away this Sunday night in Van Nuys. She was 86. The veteran died of heart failure. Carmen was really loved by her fans in Sister Act (1992) and its sequel. But it was her role in Santa Barbara, a soap opera that took her to new heights.
In her career, she proved herself as an accomplished artist. She did stage, films, TV shows, feature work and touched all the edges of acting. Zapata received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2003. She also co-founded Bilingual Foundation of the Arts in 1973. The actress will be missed by her enthusiasts. May her soul rest in peace.
