Cate Blanchett, Ralph Fiennes to receive special tributes at New York Film Festival

The upcoming New York Film Festival will pay special honour to the Elizabeth actress Cate Blanchett and the Schindler's List actor Ralph Fiennes. Alongside the screening of The Invisible Woman, Fiennes will be honoured at the gala event and Blanchett, who recently got critical acclaim for Blue Jasmine, will also be honoured at the prestigious event along with some feature clips from hercareer.

Along with the tribute-paying events, three other leading titles have also been announced for the gala screenings at the festival likeTom Hanks’ Captain Phillips will be the curtain-raiser, Ben Stiller’s directorial venture The Secret Life of Walter Mitty will be taking centre stage and Spike Jonze’s Her will mark the closing day for the 2013 fest. Blanchett and Fiennes will join the league of other honourees at the festival like Pedro Almodovar, David Cronenberg, Nicole Kidman and Richard Pena. While the Blanchett event is scheduled for October 2, the Fiennes gala will follow on October 9. The 2013 NYFF journey will continue throughout September 27-October 13.
