Chancelor Johnathan Bennett, popularly known as Chance the Rapper, recently became the youngest recipient of the Humanitarian Award at BET. Chance had donated $1 million to Chicago Public Schools and also raised around $2 million for other schools. According to a report by EOnline.com Chance said, “This is wildly overwhelming. Receiving this at my age feels a little early, but my God doesn’t make mistakes and I like to think that he’s putting this pressure on me to see how I react”.

As per a report by Indipendant.co.uk, Chance also spoke about the government’s plan to legalise weed as part of his winning speech. “And I had plans originally to try and tell the world and everybody watching how to make it a better place. To tell everybody in this government that y’all need to let everybody out of jail for selling weed before you start making it legal for people to sell it and make capital off of it”, said the rapper.

For “positively impacting both local and national communities” the 24-year-old rapper received praises from the former first lady, Michelle Obama, on Sunday night. “Chance is showing our young people that they matter, that they have something inside of them that is worthy of being expressed, and they have so much to contribute to their community and our country", said the lady. “I can think of no better legacy to leave, and I am thrilled to celebrate you here to tonight and honoured to call you my friend”, she added.
