    Channing Tatum was supposed to play the role of Gambit in the forthcoming X-Men spinoff. According to recent reports by the Wrap, Tatum might leave the film along with his creative partner Reid Carolinas. The future status of the film is now uncertain.

    Channing Tatum was reportedly a part of the casting team for the female lead. Lea Seydoux was one of the actresses who read the part. Whether or not Tatum has left the team is still a mystery. According to recent announcements, Rupert Wyatt was going to direct the movie. He is known for his film Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

    It was earlier planned that Gambit would be released on October 7 next year, but due to the recent news, the release might be delayed. Also releasing next year on February 15 is another X-Men spinoff - Deadpool. X-Men: Apocalypse will also hit the theatres next year on May 27.
