The 2009 novel by Mark Greaney titled The Gray Man will be getting a big screen adaptation in which the lead character might be gender-swapped. Academy Award winner Charlize Theron is being eyed for the role, according to The Tracking Board. The book is the first instalment in the Court Gentry series.

The story focuses on a freelance agent Court Gentry, who specializes in assassinations and is known as The Gray Man. He is trying to prove his worthiness to the dark forces who think that he has outlived his usefulness, this time, by killing to stay alive. According to previous reports, Brad Pitt was in talks to play the role of Gentry and James Gray was going to direct the film. The new reports suggest that if Charlize Theron joins the cast, she will be producing the film as well.

Charlize was recently seen in the hit film Mad Max where she played Furiosa. The big screen adaptation will be produced by Palak Patel and Joe Roth along with Charlize through her Denver and Delilah label. The director for the film is still unknown.
