Christian Bale’s knee injury delays production of The Deep Blue Good-By

Production of The Deep Blue Good-By has been delayed as Christian Bale has suffered a knee injury, which he sustained in his Los Angeles residence, reported by The Hollywood Reporter. The movie was set to go on the floors this summer. But, after discovering that the 41-year-old actor tore his ACL, 20th Century Fox has delayed the production of the movie until the Dark Knight actor fully recovers.

The movie is the big screen adaptation of John D. MacDonald’s mystery-adventure book series with the same title. The film, which has been described as an action-thriller is going to be helmed by James Mangold. The flick will also feature Peter Dinklage and Nicola Peltz. Filming for the movie was set to start in May in Florida and Puerto Rico, but has now been halted.

Bale will be seen essaying the role of an ex-soldier who resides on a house boat and acts as a self-proclaimed ‘salvage consultant’. The movie has been under development since the ‘90s and Fox are willing to wait for Bale rather than completely abandoning the project. Earlier, it was reported that Leonardo DiCaprio was set to play the lead role.
