Clive Owen denies being offered ‘James Bond’ at any point in his career

Actor Clive Owen recently revealed that at no point of time in his career was he offered the James Bond project and hoped the speculations ended. The actor was largely in news at one point when Pierce Brosnan was being replaced as 007 spy ‘Bond’. Clive was speculated to make a Bond entry with Casino Royale that saw Daniel Craig getting in the shoes of James Bond.

The Shoot’em Up star believed that it was his spy character in ‘Croupier’ that largely made the audiences picture him in the Bond avatar. "If I hadn't worn that tux in Croupier, I'd still be begging for the parts on cop shows Robson Green turned down!", the actor said. The big rumour that involved Owen at that time was his demand in the share of profits that led to the makers signing him off the project and getting Craig in place. As it turned out, the actor has completely denied any such rumour. "It's easy to keep saying no to a role you're not being offered. Am I going to be the next Sean Connery? No, I'll just be the next Clive Owen," the actor added. Clive is currently in news for his TV medical drama ‘Knick’ where he plays a doctor.
