Following the reports of Daniel Radcliffe being eyed to reprise his role as Harry Potter in the film adaptation of West End play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the actor recently shared that he will always be open to play the role. The 27-year-old says he would love to play Harry again but is also secure enough if someone else plays it. Daniel first played the wizard back in 2001 and has been part of the franchise ever since.

Talking about an opportunity to play the character again, Daniel said, “Im never going to close the door; that would be a stupid thing to do. But I think I’ll be happy enough and secure enough to let someone else play it”. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child tells the story of Harry as a 40-year-old married father. Daniel spoke about the storyline and said that he was too young to play the role.

Daniel was also worried on the possibility of a negative feedback to his return. He compared it to the Star Wars franchise and stated, “There’s a part of me that’s like, some things are better left untouched. If we went back to Potter, there’s a chance we’d make what Star Wars: The Force Awakens was to the original Star Wars, but there’s also the chance that we’d make Phantom Menace”.

On the work front, Daniel was last seen in Daniel Ragussis’ crime thriller ‘Imperium’. He was also present in ‘Now You See Me 2’ where he played the role of Walter Tressler, son of billionaire Arthur Tressler.
