As told by close sources, Fincher is in early negotiations to direct the biopic which has been scripted by Oscar-winner Aaron Sorkin and produced by Scott Rudin. The film is an adaptation of Walter Isaacson’s biography of Steve Jobs. Sony has acquired the rights for the film adaptation. The producers’ list also includes Guymon Casady and Mark Gordon. Sorkin revealed that the biopic will take place in three long scenes, “The first one being the Mac, the second one being NeXT, after he had left Apple. And the third one being the iPod.” “It’s a little like writing about the Beatles,” he added. Fincher is presently working on Ben Affleck-starrer Gone Girl which is in its post-production stage. If the deal is finalised for the biopic, production seems not to begin till the year-end as Gone Girl is slated to open on October 3. Though Ashton Kutcher’s Jobs didn’t fare well last year, Sony is quite confident about their project which is supposed to have more commercial elements.
