    Disney announces to release the next three Star Wars films every alternate year

    After the huge success ofWaltDisney’sreleasedStar Warsfilms, Disney Studios’ chief Alan Horn announced yesterday in a studio’s CinemaCon presentation to release three moreStar Warsfilms in 2015, 2017 and 2019. The six series of the film have grossed a total of $4.4 billion globally and are quite worthy of making sequels of the same. Its popularity can be estimated with the billion dollar sales from TV shows, videogames, theme park rides and merchandise.

    Alan informed thatStar Wars: Episode VIIwill be disclosed in 2015. He quoted, “We expect to have movies derived from that universe.” Horn stated that Lucasfilm will again be hired for production as Disney thinks it to be a perfect licence for the family entertainment. It was also noted that Episode VII ofStar Warswill be scripted by Michael Arndt and J.J. Abrams will direct this venture.

    Disney is also concentrating on their upcoming productionsMonsters UniversityandThe Lone Ranger.In the presentation, Horn said, “We saw the picture yesterday and it looks terrific.” A new trailer forThe Lone Rangerwas also released yesterday and it will be go public on July 3.
