    Disney To Make Sequels Of The Jungle Book, Maleficent and Others

    According to a recent report, Walt Disney Pictures has officially announced the sequels of Jon Favreau-helmed The Jungle Book as well as Robert Stromberg’s directorial Maleficent. Along with the anticipated follow ups, another live-action project in the offing is Cruella, which will star Emma Stone as the 101 Dalmatians villain and feature a screenplay by writer-actress Kelly Marcel.

    While The Jungle Book’s sequel may mark the return of screenwriter Justin Marks, Maleficent’s sequel is expected to bring along the return of stunning actress Angelina Jolie. Disney studio also confirmed progressing with A Wrinkle in Time, which is an adaptation of the Madeleine L'Engle’s novel. The script for the Ava DuVernay’s directorial is penned down by Jennifer Lee.

    In addition, the company may move forward with an adaptation of the famous story and ballet The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, which will be helmed by Lasse Hallström. Rob Marshall is also onboard to direct sequel of a 1964 classic Mary Poppins, which will feature Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
