Eddie Murphy and Kate Hudson may join Richard Pryor biopic

The 53-year-old stand up comedian Eddie Murphy and ‘Wish I Was Here’ star Kate Hudson are in talks to join The Weinstein Company’s upcoming biopic of legendary comedian Richard Pryor.

No story details have emerged at this time, and it isn't known how large Eddie Murphy and Kate Hudson's roles will be. But according to sources, Murphy has been tapped to portray Pryor’s father LeRoy, an alcohol former boxer and hustler, while Hudson is being eyed to play his fourth wife Jennifer Lee Pryor. The Pryor biopic was announced back in January of 2014 and will be distributed by The Weinstein Company. Winfrey will serve as one of the film’s producers.
