Emma Watson signs Alejandro Amenabar’ Regression

Emma Watson, the acclaimed actress of Harry Potter films, is signed in to star opposite Ethan Hawke in upcoming thriller Regression. ‘The Others’ director Alejandro Amenabar will helm the project, with original screenplay given by him. The 23-year-old confirms the news of being associated with the project, “I am passionate about Alejandro and his work and am so happy to be collaborating with him. I’m really excited by the challenge my character presents to me as an actress. I can’t wait to begin.”

Amenabar appreciated Watson saying, “Emma is a beautiful, humane, sensitive and very talented woman, and I feel very fortunate to be working with her. I’m sure that her long-standing stellar career has barely begun.” The film revolves around an accused father, who is charged with sexual abuse of his daughter but he has no memory of committing the crime. The filmmaker’s long time partner Fernando Bovaira will financially back the venture along with Canadian producer Christina Piovesan and will be made under MOD Entertainment banner. TWC-Dimension has acquired the distribution rights of the project, releasing on August 28 next year. Emma is linked to two more flicks The Bling Ring and Noah.
