Since quite some time now a debate has been going on between Universal Pictures and the makers of Fast and Furious films about how to progress with the seventh instalment after Paul Walker’s death in a car crash. Ending a lot of confusion, Walker’s close buddy actor Vin Diesel announced that the seventh edition’s release will take place in 2015.

The announcement was made by Diesel on his Facebook page on Sunday night. He posted, “The last scene we filmed together…There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared… in the film we were now completing… the magic captured… and, in just how far we’ve come…Fast and Furious 7 will be released…April 10th 2015! P.s. He’d want you to know first…”

Fast and Furious 7’s production was in its mid-way when Walker faced his tragic death and since then it has been put on an indefinite hold. Universal’s executives are engaged in continuous meetings with the filmmakers, including director James Wan, producer Neal Moritz and writer Chris Morgan, discussing the future plans about the next instalment. However, no confirmation on the release date has yet arrived from Universal and as reported earlier the producers have been planning to start the production afresh.
