Felicity Jones to lead in Star Wars spin-off movie

According to sources, Felicity Jones is negotiating with Disney and Lucasfilm to lead a new standalone Star Wars movie from director Gareth Edwards. The 31-year-old English actress was joined by Octavia Spencer, Laura Dern, Rene Russo, J.K. Simmons, Jane Seymour and Kevin Costner with wife Christine Baumgartner.

Jones has some magnificent experience as she co-starred in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as Felicia Hardy, a character who eventually becomes Black Cat in the Marvel Comics series. Jones is nominated at this year's Oscars in the Best Actress category for her role in The Theory of Everything. Gareth Edward’s untitled ‘Star Wars’ spinoff is expected to hit theaters on December 16, 2016.
