Felicity Jones To Portray The Role Of U.S. Associate Justice

British actress Felicity Jones is known for her roles in Rogue One and Inferno. Recently, the actress has been roped in to portray the role of Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The actress will be playing the role in the biopic ‘On the Basis of Sex’.

The biopic will be helmed by Mimi Leder under the banner of Focus Features. The movie will be placing an emphasis on the early days of Ginsburg’s fight for equality and her path to becoming the second woman appointed to the Supreme Court. The script of the biopic has been penned by Daniel Stiepleman.

Felicity Jones has replaced Natalie Portman, who was in talks of portraying the role of Ginsburg since 2015. Ginsburg was appointed to the Supreme Court in 1993 by President Clinton and became the second female justice after Sandra Day O' Connor. Ruth Bader Ginsburg is 84 years old and is still an associate justice who is part of the court's liberal wing.
