The sequel to the Fifty Shades Grey will be ‘more of a thriller’, says Donna Langley (Chairman Universal Pictures). Fifty Shades Darker, has been written by Niall Leonard. Leonard is the husband of the Fifty Shades Grey, writer E.L. James.

"For the record, the movie we ended up making is exactly the movie I wanted to make and that the studio wanted to make and that our director wanted to make," Langley said. There were also reports that James was removed as the writer as she wanted more control over the movie. But Donna Langley denied such reports saying that the decision to hire Niall Leonard was taken in the franchise’s best interest.

Fifty Shades Darker, will be released on February 10, 2017 and the trilogy will be completed when Fifty Shades Freed will be released on February 9, 2018. Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson will be seen reprising their roles as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele respectively. But Taylor-Johnson will not return as the director.
