    The seventh instalment in the epic Star Wars franchise, Star Wars: The Force Awakens has become the third highest grossing movie of all time. Running on its fourth weekend, the movie pooled in $41 million, sending its earnings to $1.7 billion worldwide. The position was previously occupied by Jurassic World and its $1.6 billion.

    Leonardo DiCaprio’s The Revenant grossed $38 million, running on its third weekend. The movie was also the star of the 73rd Golden Globes with the Best Motion Picture in the Drama category award and the Best Actor award. The Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg starrer Daddy’s Home pooled in $15 million on its third weekend.

    The new release, The Forest, raked in $13 million on its opening weekend. The movie stars Natalie Dormer and was developed on a budget of $10 million. The last spot on the top 5 list was claimed by Sisters, starring Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. Sisters grossed $7 million on its fourth weekend. The total earnings of the film have crossed $83 million.
