The sequel of the enormous gamble film for 20th Century Fox, Avatar, which took $237 million in its production, is delayed. The next sequel to Avatar was supposed to release in 2016 but recently, the CEO of 20th Century Fox Jim Gianopulos, confirmed that the release of the film has been postponed for 2017 now. He described the reason for the same, by saying, “Jim Cameron has his own pace”.

The Fox studio chief said that he is expecting the movie to be one of the highest grosser films for 2016. He further said that the other follow ups will release in 2017 and 2018. Talking of Cameron, he said that he visited him 2 months back in New Zealand. He shared what he saw. “It’s a room…which is covered floor to ceiling with images, characters, worlds, settings. It’s the most amazing, breathtaking thing you’ve ever seen. His challenge is to put all of that in a movie”.

Talking of the first chapter, Avatar, which released in 2009 and took 10 years in its making, he said, “There was that moment when Jim Cameron said 10-foot blue people with tails”. He added, “In the first movie he created technology that was so far ahead of its time. Of course now he’s gone past that…all the pieces are in place. The story is being finalized”.
