    The multitalented Casino Royale British-Indian star Paul Bhattacharjee was discovered dead on July 12 by Scotland Yard in the cliffs at Splash Point in Seaford, East Sussex and has been formally identified on July 17. The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel actor was last seen on July 10 leaving rehearsals at the Royal Court Theatrein Sloane Square. His friends and colleagues from stage and screen and his worldwide fans are shocked with the news and since then Twitter has been raining with tribute messages.

    According to police his death is not going to be treated as suspicious. The actor has been said to be in good spirits in his last time and as his last communication, he sent a text message to his girlfriend on July 10. His son Rahul Bhattacharjee-Prashar told the Evening Standard that the entire incident was "completely out of character". He also added, "He was doing well in his career and everything seemed to be going okay." The tall, slim, funny and meticulous actor was a key member of Jatinder Verma's Tara Arts and a regular at the Royal Shakespeare Company. He was last seen in the West End last year when he played Benedick opposite Meera Syal in the RSC's Much Ado About Nothing. He was also a popular television and film actor whose roles included Inzamam in the BBC soap EastEnders and an immigration officer called Mohammed in Stephen Frears's Dirty Pretty Things (2002) apart from the Bond movie Casino Royale (2006) and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2011).

Former EastEnders actress Brooke Kinsella tweeted, "Thoughts, prayers, heart goes out to Paul Bhattacharjee and his family xxxx.” Coronation Street actress Shobna Gulati posted, "Just got the news, deeply saddened by Paul's death. He will be truly missed and my respects and thoughts to his family and dear friends." Musician Nitin Sawhney wrote, "They found Paul. Devastated. My inspiring, insightful, gifted and kind friend. I'm in shock.” Actor and presenter Adil Ray said, "So sad to hear this about actor Paul Bhattercharjee. RIP. Thoughts with his family and close ones x."Muzz Khan, a co-actor of Paul in Much Ado About Nothing added, "Paul Bhattacharjee's disappearance took us all by surprise. His death has crushed us.” He went on, "He was a pioneer and legend. I hope he's found peace. Rest In Peace, Paul Bhattacharjee. I can't believe you're gone, mate...." Director Jamie Lloyd wrote, "Very sad to hear about the death of Paul Bhattacharjee. He was a very fine actor. My thoughts are with his family."
