The tale takes a sudden twist when Ben apprehends that the authority and the media have been suspecting him as the main culprit behind the incident. Gone Girl is an adaptation of Gillian Flynn's novel with the same name and the trailer has been released online which has not much dialogue. David, who earlier created the film adaptation of Stieg Larsson's novel The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, confessed about his new project, "we may have been too beholden to the source material."
Author Flynn said, "There was something thrilling about taking this piece of work that I'd spent about two years painstakingly putting together with all its eight million LEGO pieces and take a hammer to it and bash it apart and reassemble it into a movie.” The film, Gone Girl, also stars Neil Patrick Harris, Missi Pyle, Tyler Perry, Patrig Fugit, Casey Wilson, Scott McNairy, Kim Dickens and Emily Ratajkowski. The film, produced by Reese Witherspoon, Bruna Papandrea and Leslie Dixon, will hit the big screens on October 3.
