Helen Slater and Dean Cain will star in ‘Supergirl’ TV Series

Former Superman Dean Cain and former Supergirl Helen Slater has joined the cast of CBS ‘Supergirl’ in unspecified roles. Dean Cain also played Superman in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman on ABC back in the 1990s.

Slater played the title character in Supergirl, the 1984 movie also starring Faye Dunaway and Peter O’Toole, which was not a box office success. Supergirl stars Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers, who likes a certain other DC superhero, managed to escape Krypton just as it was destructing. She’s spent her life trying to hide her superpowers but now, at the age of 24, finally decides to embrace them for good. Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash) and Ali Adler (No Ordinary Family) are executive producing the series along with Sarah Schechter (The Flash).
