Hiddleston stars in King Kong reboot ‘Skull Island’

The King Kong reboot that took everyone by surprise at this year's Comic-Con just got a whole lot crazier and closer to be getting made. Legendary Pictures has announced the director of Skull Island and its brand new star, Tom Hiddleston. Tom Hiddleston whom many know as Loki from both ‘Thor’ movies as well as ‘The Avengers’ is set to star in the surprise King Kong reboot Skull Island, which was just announced at Comic-Con.  Jordan Vogt-Roberts is roped in to direct, with Godzilla scribe Max Borenstein writing.

Previous "King Kong" films including the 1933 original and Peter Jackson's 2005 remake have visited the island before bringing the ape action to NYC. However, according to a press release, "Skull Island" will "take audiences deeper inside this rich world with a style and scope that parallels other Legendary productions." Hiddleston, who is best known for his role in the “Avengers” films, will also star in Legendary’s upcoming “Crimson Peak” horror film from director Guillermo del Toro. Universal Pictures will distribute the film on November 4, 2016.
