Horror Thriller ‘Wish Upon’ Gets June Release Date

John Leonetti’s upcoming horror thriller ‘Wish Upon’ has got a release date of June 30, as announced by Broad Green Pictures. The movie stars actress Joey King as the lead who shares screen space with Ryan Phillippe, playing her father. ‘Wish Upon’ will share the box office cake with ‘Despicable Me 3’, ‘The House’ and ‘Amityville: The Awakening’.

King plays a 17-year-old, who’s mother committed suicide, living with her manic, hoarder father. One fine day, her father brings home an old music box which promises to grant its owner seven wishes. She then discovers that the people closest to her suffer violent deaths after each wish she uses.

The script has been penned by TV writer Barbara Marshall with Sherryl Clark producing the movie. The cast also includes Mitchell Slaggert, Sydney Park, Ki Hong Lee, Sherilyn Fenn and Kevin Hanchard. King has a few projects in her kitty which include ‘The Conjuring’, ‘Independence Day: Resurgence’ and a recurring role on ‘Fargo’.
