    Indie Film ‘The Sisters Brothers’ Taken Up By Annapurna

    Distribution and Marketing company Annapurna took up the rights of the much talked about movie 'The Sisters Brothers'. The noire western flick is based on Patrick deWitt's novel of the same name that takes place in Gold Rush-era mid-1800s Oregon.

    The story focuses on two assassins Eli and Charlie Sisters that are hired to kill a gold prospector Hermann Kermit Warm who has stolen from their boss. The notorious assassins pursue the prospector across 1000 miles of Oregon desert to San Francisco. Out of the two assassins, Eli is having a personal crisis and starts facing doubts on the career path he has chosen for himself and the prospector might have something better to offer.

    The movie stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Joaquin Phoenix, John C. Reilly and Riz Ahmed. The indie flick is helmed by Jacques Audiard, who has also penned the screenplay along with writer Thomas Bidegain and the original novel author Patrick Dewitt.
