If the per-theatre average is to be considered, Inside Llewyn Davis is definitely the best debut ever for Coen brothers leaving behind their Oscar Best Picture winner No Country for Old Men which earned $1.2 million from 28 theatres in 2007. Earlier their biggest opening average was A Serious Man which debuted at six theatres in 2009. Inside Llewyn Davis has also received some amazing reviews and tasted its major success from the word-of-mouth on Saturday, as attendance increased by 29 percent following a strong Friday. Now the expansion plans are going on for the film. Among other award-winners which expanded over the weekend are The Book Thief, Philomena, Dallas Buyers Club, Nebraska, All is Lost and Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
